Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 6 February 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 3.2% to record EGP 449.734 bn compared to EGP 463.941 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.92% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 1.237 bn which represents 16.58% of the total trading volume today after 18.619 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.26% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 1.43% and 27.880 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 0.93% to record 6.958 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased b1 % to record 9.735 points.
