Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday 17 March 2024 with Increase in the market cap by 1% to record EGP 512.627 bn compared to EGP 507.742 bn at last Thursday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 26.04% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 229.427 mn which represents 6.84% of the total trading volume today after 3.561million shares were exchanged capturing 0.57% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 54.5 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 0.81% and 31.781 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 0.94% to record 7.009 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 1.08% to record 10.044 points.
