Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 7 May 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 3.3% to record EGP 430.087 bn compared to EGP 416.360 bn at last Thursday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.16% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 307.647 mn which represents 10.75% shares were exchanged capturing 1.00% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 1.21%, to record 26.429 points EGX70 increased by 1.09% to record 5.859 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 1% to record 8.412 points.
