Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday 8 September 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 2.1% to record EGP 454.136bn compared to EGP 463.810bn at last Thursday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.78% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 236.024mn which represents 6.87% of the total trading volume today after 3.839million shares were exchanged capturing 0.43% of the total trading volume.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 2.44% to reach 31.033 points EGX70 decrease by 1.01% to record 7.312 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 1.34% to record 10.414 points.
