Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 16 September 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.7% to record EGP 453.831bn compared to EGP 456.974bn at last Thursday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.96% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 209.856 mn which represents 5.80% of the total trading volume today after 4.010 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.52% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.78% to reach 30.711 points EGX70 decrease by 0.45% to record 7.153 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 0.51% to record 10.219 points.
