Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 17 September 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.5% to record EGP 451.740bn compared to EGP 453.831bn at last Monday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.96% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 330.445mn which represents 10.98% of the total trading volume today after 4.938 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.70% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 27mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.33% to reach 30.459 points EGX70 decrease by 1.02% to record 7.089 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 0.91% to record 10.126 points.
