The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 9 May with decrease in the market cap by 1.43 % or EGP 267.573 billion compared to EGP 271.461 billion at the end yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.96% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 474.887 million which represents 16.46% of the total trading volume today after 10.335 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.51% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 52 million on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.80% at 17.832 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 0.87% to record 3.05681 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 0.94% to record 4.682points.
