Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 8 August with Increase in the market cap by 0.01% to record EGP 279.323 bn compared to EGP 276.044 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.39% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 557.596 mn which represents 18.18% of the total trading volume today after 11.340 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.17% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with Decrease and turnover amounted EGP 68.7 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.51% and 17.937 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 0.16 % to record 3.619 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Increased by 0.27 % to record 5.353 points.
