Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 22 August with Increase in the market cap by 1.08% to record EGP 288.150bn compared to EGP 285.071 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.43% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 285.919 mn which represents 11.53% of the total trading volume today after 6.704 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.95% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 85.7 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 1.65% and 18256 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 1.14 % to record 3. 716points, and the broader index “EGX100” Increased by 1.20 % to record 5464 points.
